TuDiabetes: Congratulations to Mollie and Jackie Singer!!!

Congratulations to Mollie and Jackie Singer!!!

Mollie Singer, one of the members of TuDiabetes, along with her twin sister Jackie, have been selected, as two of only six young people in America to have been chosen, as the 2007 Most Caring Americans and will be inducted into the Most Caring American Hall of Fame in Washington, D.C., on November 15th, 2007.

From the press release announcing the award: “Mollie Singer learned she had diabetes at the age of four. Since then, Mollie’s twin sister Jackie has been watching over her. Diagnosed at a time when no one knew how to handle a diabetic child, they wanted to do something for Mollie and other children like her. The two girls started a club to educate children about the disease and teach them how to watch out for their diabetic friends aptly naming it “Diabetic Angels.” To further promote understanding of diabetes, Mollie and Jackie have met with President Bush, lobbied senators and testified before Congress. They have also written the booklet The Road to a Cure and organized walks that have collected over $500,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The Singer sisters are talented “singers” as well and broadcast their message as a country music duo.”

We are PROUD of you and thankful for the incredible work you have done for people with diabetes!!!
